Professor Roy J. Glauber, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2005, delivered a public lecture entitled “What is Quantum Optics” at the Distinguished Lecture in Physics in HKBU on 14 January 2010. The Distinguished Lecture in Physics was sponsored by Dr. Chiu Chun-bong, DBA (Hon), MBE, JP, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation. In the same evening, Dr. Chiu hosted the dinner in Honour of Professor Glauber at his villa, Luna House. Representatives of the University were also invited to the dinner.

Mr. William Leung Wing-cheung, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Alumni Committee and Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, was appointed by the Chief Executive to serve as Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts for a period of two years from 1 January 2010. Mr. Leung has shared his life experience with HKBU students on several occasions. He was invited to share the key to his success with HKBU students in a talk “Dialogue with Outstanding Alumni” on 13 January 2010.
