Professor Ferid Murad, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine 1998, delivered a public lecture entitled "Discovery of Cyclic GMP and Nitric Oxide Cell Signaling and Their Role in Drug Development" at the Distinguished Lecture at HKBU on 14 September 2010. The Distinguished Lecture was sponsored by Dr. Chiu Chun-bong, DBA (Hon), MBE, JP, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation. In the same evening, Dr. Chiu hosted the Dinner in Honour of Professor Ferid Murad and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU at his villa, Luna House. Representatives of the University were also invited to the dinner.

Mr. Richard Hui, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation, was conferred an Honorary University Fellowship this month by The University of Hong Kong in recognition of his contributions to education and the community.

Mr. Richard Chung-yee Hui is an engineer and currently a Director of Central Development Limited, Yan Hing Mining Company Limited and Sze Cheong Investment Company Limited. Mr. Hui and his family have continually supported the education sector over the past 20 years. He also participates actively in community service. As a founding member of the Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation Limited and a member of its Standing Committee, Mr. Hui has significantly contributed to the development of human resources in Mainland China.

Mr. Irons Sze, Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, was appointed as Vice-President of the 3rd Executive Committee of HKCPPCC (Provincial) Members Association Limited. Mr. Sze is currently an Executive Director of Hang Tung Resources Holding Limited.

Dr. Lee Sam Yuen John, BBS, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, was reappointed as Chairman of the 25th Lee Clansmen's Association Limited. Dr. Lee is currently the Managing Director of Dah Hwa International (Holdings) Limited.
