Hong Kong Baptist University recently received a generous donation of HK$10 million from Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong for the establishment of the Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong Endowed Chair of Chinese Medicine. In recognition of Dr. Wong's generosity, a Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Donation by Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong was held on 16 December 2010 (Thursday) on campus.

Officiating guests at the Ceremony were Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong, BBS, DCL, JP; Managing Partner of Philip K H Wong, Kennedy Y H Wong & Co.; Mr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of the Council and the Court of the University; Professor Albert S.C. Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor; and Professor Liu Liang, Dean of Chinese Medicine.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Professor Albert S.C. Chan expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Kennedy Wong for being a dedicated member of HKBU's family, as well as his unfailing support and wise counsel on various initiatives for its advancement. Professor Chan also said it is undoubtedly a great encouragement to the University.

The Ceremony was well attended by family members and guests of Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong, including Dr. and Mrs. Philip K.H. Wong, BBS, JP; Mr. Liu Wei Zhong, President of Bauhinia Magazine; Mr. Wang Shu Cheng, President and Chairman of Wen Wei Po Daily News; and also supporters and friends of HKBU, such as Ir Dr. K.K. Wong, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation; Dr. Philip P.H. Wu, BBS, JP, Director of Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation; Mr. Billy Hung, Director of Wai Tak Land Investment & Loan Company Limited; and Mr. So Chung Ping, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Welfare Association, as well as staff and students.
