Dr. Tin Ka Ping, GBM, MBE, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation, will be conferred the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa by The University of Hong Kong in March, in recognition of his contributions to academia.

Dr Tin Ka Ping is the Founder of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. He is also a generous philanthropist and an advocate of education. Countless schools, hospitals and charities in Hong Kong and the Mainland have been beneficiaries of his philanthropy. Dr. Tin is a staunch supporter of HKBU. His own Foundation supports the endeavours of HKBU through the Tin Ka Ping Education Fund. Dr Tin was awarded an MBE in 1996, a Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2010 and an Honorary Doctorate from HKBU in 1996, and has also received honorary degrees from many other higher education institutions in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Mainland.
 

Dr. David Wong, JP, Member of Board of Governors and Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the 38th Executive Committee of Hong Kong Fukien Chamber of Commerce.

Honorary Permanent President Dr. Hung Chao Hong Albert, SBS, JP and Honorary Vice-President Mr. Lok Chi Hung were also appointed Vice-Chairmen of the 38th Executive Committee of Hong Kong Fukien Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Hung is currently President of Goldpoly Asia Limited. Mr. Lok is currently the Chairman of Shun Tat International Holdings Limited.
 

Dr. Moses Cheng, OBE, GBS, JP, Member of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation, was appointed as Member of the Selection Panel for the next Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission. Dr. Cheng is currently Senior Partner of P.C. Woo & Co.
 

Dr. Kennedy Wong, BBS, JP, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, was appointed as Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Press Council 2011 for a term of one year. Dr. Wong is currently a Managing Partner of Philip K H Wong, Kennedy Y H Wong & Co.
