Eminent Alumni from Property Sector shared at 55th Anniversary Alumni Sharing Forum

Three outstanding alumni from the property development and management profession shared their valuable experience with students and alumni at the 55th Anniversary Alumni Sharing Forum on 26 May. They were Mr. Justin Chiu (Sociology) (Second from left), Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation and Executive Director of Cheung Kong (Holding) Ltd.; Mr. Michael Choi (Business Management) (Third from right), Chairman of Land Power International Holding Ltd.; and Dr. Jacinto Tong (Economics) (Fourth from left), Chief Executive Officer of Gale Well Group Ltd.

At the Forum, Alumnus Chiu advised students to take their personalities into consideration before joining the property development profession. Alumnus  Choi, who has focused his work on the Mainland real estate market in this decade, encouraged students who wish to start their career in Mainland China to take the time to understand the culture, system and the operations of different types of businesses there. Alumnus Tong suggested the younger generation consider the market situation carefully as well as how much they can afford to spend before purchasing a property.

The Forum was attended by Mr. William Leung, BBS, JP, Treasurer of the Board of Governors, Chairman of the Alumni Committee and Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation; Dr. Patrick Ko, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Albert S.C. Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development); Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Dr. Simon Wong, Dean of Continuing Education; Dr. Vivienne Luk, Director of  Wing Lung Bank International Institute for Business Development and Institute for Enterprise Development; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and Ms. Lisa Wong, Acting Director of Alumni Affairs.
