The University recently received a generous donation pledge of HK$10 million from Dr. Kennedy Wong, BBS, JP, Managing Partner of Philip K H Wong, Kennedy Y H Wong & Co., Member of the Board of Governors and Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, for the establishment of the "Distinguished Visiting Professorship Scheme". Dr. Wong presented a donation cheque for HK$5 million for the first instalment to Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, on 5 February 2013.

Under the Scheme, the University will invite internationally renowned scholars from around the world to stay on our campus as Visiting Professors so that our academics and students will have more opportunities to interact with world-class scholars, thereby increasing their knowledge base and broadening their horizons. The Scheme will also foster invaluable links with reputable institutions to strengthen HKBU's status in the international academic arena and provide knowledge exchange platform to the Hong Kong community.
