Mr. Herman Hu re-appointed as Council Chairman of City University of Hong Kong

Mr. Herman Hu, BBS, JP, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, was re-appointed as Council Chairman of the City University of Hong Kong for a term of three years with effect from 1 January 2015. Mr. Hu is currently Chairman of Ryoden Development Limited.

40th General Committee Inauguration Ceremony of The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, hosted an inauguration ceremony of its 40th General Committee at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 8 January 2015. Dr. Eddy Li, BBS, JP serves as the new President with effect from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017.

Mr. David Mong appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Shun Hing Group

Mr. David T.Y. Mong, Member of the Board of Governors and the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, was recently appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Shun Hing Group with effect from 1 January 2015. Mr. Mong joined the Group in 1991 and was formerly its Vice-Chariman.

Mr. Lok Chi Hung and Dr. David Wong elected as Committee Members of The Fukien Chamber of Commerce

Mr. Lok Chi Hung, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, and Dr. David Wong, BBS, JP, Permanent Honorary President of The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, were elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairmen respectively of the 40th Executive Committee of The Fukien Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Lok is currently Chairman of Shun Tat International Holdings Limited, while Dr. Wong is currently Managing Director of United Overseas Investments Limited.

The following four Members of the HKBU Foundation were recently appointed by the Government as Employer Representatives of the Labour Advisory Board:

Mr. Irons Sze, JP (representing The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation)

Mr. Ho Sai Chu, GBS, JP (representing The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation)

Mr. Cheung Sing Hung, BBS, President of the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation (appointed on an ad personam basis)
The appointment takes effect from 1 January 2015 for a term of two years.
