The University recently received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Dr. Jacinto Tong, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gale Well Group Limited, in support of the publication of the HKBU 60th Anniversary History Book. 

In recognition of the donor's generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Dr. Jacinto Tong and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 23 April 2015. Guests and representatives of the University attending the ceremony included Dr. Tong's wife Mrs. Jenny Tong, their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Tong and daughter Miss Jacqueline Tong; Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development); Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement. Professor Chan hosted a dinner for the guests at Shiu Pong Hall after the ceremony. 

To mark its diamond jubilee, the University will publish the History Book in English and Chinese versions to document its developments and achievements over the decades from an academic perspective. The co-authors are Professor Mak King Sang, Professor Chow Kai Wing and Dr. Wong Man Kong of the Department of History.
