China Fortune Foundation Limited sponsors University students' business ventures

The China Fortune Foundation Limited, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, recently co-organised "The China Fortune Social Venture Prize" with Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC). It encourages students from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to draw up business plans for starting social ventures, and provides financial support for viable projects. Priority is given to the practicability, social responsibility, and creativity of the business proposals. The China Fortune Venture Prize attracted 290 teams from 104 universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. In the final competition, the top 10 teams from among 30 finalists will share the seed fund of HKD$100,000 donated by the China Fortune Foundation.

Mr. Lee Yu Leung, Chairman of the China Fortune Foundation Limited, said the Foundation would continue to support the winning teams with managerial and professional assistance. The operators of the social ventures would receive salaries and bonuses.

Mr. Justin Chiu reappointed Chairman of Hong Kong Changzhou Chamber of Commerce

Mr. Justin Chiu, Member of the Board of Governors cum Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, was reappointed as Chairman of the Hong Kong Changzhou Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Chiu is currently an Executive Director of the Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited.

 

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited won the "2009-2010 Best Low-Carbon Business in China" Award

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, Honorary President of the HKBU Foudnation, won the "2009-2010 Best Low-Carbon Business in China" Award in the "2009-2010 Best Low-Carbon Businesses in China" election organised by the Economic Observer and supported by the China Europe International Business School.
The accolade was given to GCL-Poly in recognition of the company's commitment to the development of photovoltaic products and to proactively facilitating the rapid and healthy development of China's solar industry. Its innovative business model has effectively lowered the production cost of end user products.
