The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. the Hon. Lee Tung-Hai Leo, GBM, GBS, Cav Gr Croce, OBE, Chev Leg d'Hon, Comm Leopold II, LLD, JP, Honorary President of HKBU Foundation, on 8 June 2010. He was 96 years old.

Dr. Lee was the Chairman of the Tung Tai Group of Companies. Over the years, Dr. Lee had devoted himself to charitable work, social services and the advocacy of cultural activities. Among the numerous public services he was involved, he was the Chairman of the Association of Chairmen of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, the Founding Permanent Honorary President of Friends of Hong Kong Association and the Honorary President of the Italian Cultural Society of Hong Kong.

The Foundation conveys our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Lee and the Lee family at this time of bereavement. Dr. Lee will always be remembered for his generous support and contributions to the development of the University.
