Mr. So Chung Ping, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Welfare Association, Mr. Lam Cho Kwong, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Welfare Association, and Mr. Yiu Yu Hung, Honorary Life President and Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Welfare Association, met with Mr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of the Council and the Court, Professor Albert S.C. Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement, on 3 January 2011 to share their wise counsel regarding the University's development. They also paid a visit to the University with representatives of the Association on 13 January 2011. HKBU has a long-established relationship with the Tsim Sha Tsui District Kai Fong Welfare Association. Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. So for his unfailing support for the University. Mr. Lee wished to explore the feasibility of future collaboration with the Association. In his speech, Mr. So said that the Association is dedicated to community services and agrees with the University's philosophy of Whole Person Education. Association members were deeply impressed by the rapid development of the School of Chinese Medicine and they anticipated a future partnership with HKBU with regard to the establishment of the Chinese Medicine Hospital. The visit began with an introduction on the development of the School of Business by Professor Stephen Cheung, BBS, JP, Dean of Business. The delegation then visited the School of Chinese Medicine and the newly built Communication and Visual Arts Building. They also met with Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Liu Liang, Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine; Professor Ringo Ma, Associate Dean of School of Communication and Professor of Communication Studies; Dr. Sobel Chan, Senior Lecturer of Academy of Film; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of the University Advancement Office. |
