The University received a generous donation of HK$10 million from the Tsang Shiu Tim Charitable Foundation in 2010 in support of the University's Campus Master Plan.  In recognition of the Foundation's generosity, the 400-seat auditorium located on the second floor of the newly-built Academic and Administration Building was named the "Tsang Chan Sik Yue Auditorium" in loving memory of Mrs. Tsang Shiu Tim.

A naming ceremony, officiated by Mrs. Yeung Tsang Wing Yee and Ms. Tsang Wing Fun, Directors of the Tsang Shiu Tim Charitable Foundation, and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 15 December 2012.

In his address, Professor Chan praised the late Mr. Tsang Shiu Tim for his devotion to philanthropy in his lifetime and appreciated his children for the establishment of the Tsang Shiu Tim Charitable Foundation to continue to make contributions for the benefit of the community.  He also introduced the seven attributes of HKBU graduates and thanked the Foundation for its donation which has helped the overall development of the University for the provision of Whole Person Education.  Professor Chan said the Tsang Chan Sik Yue Auditorium, which can be used as lecture theatre or performing venue, would be opened for public use in the future, helping to advance the cultural development of Hong Kong.

The ceremony was well attended by the Tsang family as well as Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research & Development) and Dean of Graduate School; Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.  After the ceremony, the guests toured the Auditorium and watched a video on the Campus Master Plan and an award-winning 3D computer animation video by students.  They then visited other new facilities in the Academic and Administration Building.
