The University recently received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Chi Tao Charitable Foundation Limited, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, in support of the research and teaching development of the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology. Mr. Hung Hin Lui (right, front row), Founder of the Foundation, also hosted a lunch for HKBU representatives on 20 August 2013 to exchange views on the University's development.

In recognition of the Foundation's generosity, Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, presented a souvenir to Mr. Hung Hin Lui during the lunch. Other HKBU representatives attending the lunch included Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.
