Dr. Simon Suen, JP (right, front row) and Mrs. Mary Suen (fourth from left, back row), Honoray Permanent Presidents of the HKBU Foundation, together with their friends, recently hosted a banquet in celebration of the 98th birthday of Professor Jao Tsung-i, GBM, JP (centre, front row), a world-renowned master in Chinese classical studies. Professor Jao, Honorary Permanent Director of the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Suen and his friends for their thoughtfulness and warm hospitality.

Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, and Mrs. Mabel Chan presented a gift to Professor Jao and wished him longevity and good health. Other guests attending the banquet included Professor Jao's daughters Ms Veronica Yiu and Ms Angeline Yiu; his granddaughter Miss Michelle Cheong; Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen, Chairman of Dongguan Xingye Trade Development Company Limited; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Leung; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.
