Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, recently hosted a dinner for Mr. Cheung On Tak, Founder of the Cheung On Tak Charity Foundation and Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, to express our sincere appreciation for his steadfast support towards HKBU over the years and to exchange views on the University's development.  Guests attending the dinner included his son Mr. Gavin Cheung and nephew Mr. Alex Cheung, Chairman of Telecom Digital Holdings Ltd.; Mr. Lau Chor Tak and his daughter Ms. Elena Lau; Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President and Director of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Professor Lu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.

Mr. Cheung On Tak has been a staunch supporter of HKBU.  In 2010, he donated HK$10 million to the University, of which HK$6 million was designated for the establishment of the "Cheung On Tak International Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Medicine", and the remaining HK$4 million for setting up the "Cheung On Tak Endowment Fund" in support of the University's development.  Mr. Cheung recently donated a precious collection of paintings and craftworks for a charity auction; the net proceeds generated will be used to support the "Cheung On Tak International Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Medicine".
