| The University hosted a Founders' Day Reception on 26 March 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to celebrate its 57th anniversary. Officiating at the Ceremony were Dr. the Hon Hari N. Harilela, GBM, GBS, OBE, JP, Honorary Chairman of the Harilela Group and Doctor of Business Administration, honoris causa, HKBU; Mr. Cheng Yan Kee, JP, Mrs. Pamela Chan Wong Shui, BBS, JP and Mrs. Doreen Chan, Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Treasurer respectively of the Council and the Court; and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor. Around 260 guests attended the reception, including Consuls General, donors and members of the HKBU Foundation as well as staff, students, alumni and supporters of the University.
At the reception, Mr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKBU Foundation, together with Mr. Cheng Yan Kee and Professor Albert Chan, presented Foundation Certificates to the Honorary Permanent Presidents and Honorary Presidents who have contributed cumulative donations of HK$1 million or above this year in recognition of their generosity. The Honorary Permanent Presidents were Mr. Franco Cutrupia and Mrs. Pauline Wei Cutrupia, and Hinrich Foundation Limited. The Honorary Presidents included Ms. Lau Kwei Fan; Mr. Leung Wing Cheung William, BBS, JP and Mrs. Leung Ho Wai Ling Agnes; Mr. Lok Chi Hung; Dr. Ma Kai Cheung, SBS; Ms. Wong Wai Ching, Connie, JP; and Victor and William Fung Foundation Limited. Their generous support to HKBU has made possible the University's drive for excellence, innovation and advancement.
