Mr. Wade Lam and Mr. Lawrence Shum received Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong

Mr. Wade Lam (second from left) and Mr. Lawrence Shum (fourth from right), Members of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, were presented with the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries on 4 November 2014, in recognition of their achievements in the industrial sector. Mr. Lam is currently Chairman and CEO of Grand Tech Group Ltd. while Mr. Shum is currently Managing Director of NewOcean Energy Holdings Ltd.

Sign language performance for promoting social inclusion of the disabled

Yan Chai Hospital recently hosted a sign language performance event at the Shatin Racecourse to promote social inclusion of the disabled. The event was well attended by 8,500 guests and volunteers, including Mrs. Susan So, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yan Chai Hospital and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation; Ms. Elizabeth Law, MH and Mrs. Mary Suen, Honorary Permanent Presidents of the HKBU Foundation; and Mr. So Kai Sing, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement, joined the event on behalf of the University. |

Symposium on the Scholarship of Professor Jao Tsung-i

The Symposium on the Scholarship of Prof. Jao Tsung-i, jointly organised by the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology (BUJAS) and Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute, was recently held at HKBU to introduce and study in depth the academic achievements of Professor Jao Tsung-i. Professor Jao Tsung-i, GBM, Honorary Permanent Director of BUJAS, officiated at the Symposium which was well-attended by academia and students. Mr. William Leung appointed Chairman of the Estate Agents Authority

Mr. William Leung Wing Cheung, BBS, JP, Treasurer of the Board of Governors and Chairman of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation, was appointed by the HKSAR Government as Chairman of the Estate Agents Authority for a term of two years with effect from 1 November 2014. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Sun Hung Kai Financial Limited.
