The University recently received a donation pledge of HK$2.7 million from Junlan Electronic (HK) Limited in support of the development of the "HKBU R&D Platform for Mobile Healthcare Management System" by the School of Chinese Medicine. In recognition of the Company's generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Mr. Liu Jiru, Managing Director of Junlan Electronic (HK) Limited, and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 5 November 2014.
In his speech, Professor Albert Chan expressed his sincere gratitude to Junlan Electronic (HK) Limited for its tremendous support. He said the donation would help to promote research and product development in healthcare management system and to raise public awareness of healthy lifestyles for the well-being of the community.
Those attending the ceremony included Mrs. Liu Jiru; guests from Junlan Electronic (HK) Limited; Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development); Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Lu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Dr. Zhang Ge, Director of the Technology Development Division and Associate Director of the Teaching and Research Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and Mrs. Helen Tsang, Head of the Secretariat of the School of Chinese Medicine. After the ceremony, Professor Chan hosted a lunch for the guests at Shiu Pong Hall.
