The University recently received a generous donation of HK$750,000 from Ms. Angelique Yeh, Founder of ~Angel Care~ Student Assistance Project, designated for the ~Angel Care~ Student Assistance Project to support HKBU students with financial needs. Since 2009, Ms. Yeh has donated a total of HK$1 million, inclusive of her donations through the Hong Kong and Macau Taiwanese Charity Fund.
In recognition of the donor's generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Ms. Angelique Yeh and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 6 December 2014. In his speech, Professor Chan expressed his sincere gratitude to Ms. Yeh for her generous support to the University. He also praised Ms. Yeh for her devotion and contribution to the development of education in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore and other countries and cities by financing the studies of students with financial difficulties.
The Ceremony was well attended by about 30 guests and representatives from the University, including Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation, Professor Albert Lee, Director of Student Affairs, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.
The ~Angel Care~ Student Assistance Project was founded by Ms. Angelique Yeh in 1996. The Project has raised about HK$30 million since its inception, benefiting a number of needy students.
