Distinguished Lecture Series organised by HKBU

Dr. Chiu Chun Bong, MBE, JP, Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation and Managing Director of Billabong Enterprises Co. Ltd., sponsored a public lecture entitled "Computers and Computing in the Early Years" by Professor Niklaus Wirth, the 1984 Turing Award Laureate, on 23 January 2015. It attracted a full house of about 120 participants, including teachers and students from local tertiary institutions and secondary schools, members of the HKBU community and the general public. Professor Wirth delivered the topic with extensive evidence and shared his wisdom and insights into the computing development. The lecture was well received and stimulated an active discussion with the audience.
