Mr. Wilfred Wong and Mr. William Au appointed Members of Hong Kong Arts Development Council

Mr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of the Council and the Court, was recently appointed as Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC). Mr. Wong is currently Executive Deputy Chairman of Hsin Chong Construction Group Limited.

Sponsoring Member  Mr. Au Weng Hei William, BBS, JP was appointed as Member of HKADC. Mr. Au is currently Chairman of Hop Ying International Holdings Limited.

The above appointments are effective for a period of three years from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2013.
 



The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong grants scholarships to HKBU students
20 December 2010

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA), Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, gave financial support to HKBU students. The Presentation Ceremony of CMA & Donors Scholarship 2010 was held on 20 December 2010. In order to encourage and recognise outstanding students, CMA granted scholarships, amounting over HK$370,000, to 260 students from 23 tertiary institutions. Among the recipients, 6 HKBU students benefited from the scheme.
 



"Brand Rejuvenation: The Case of Playboy in China", a new book by Dr. John Chan

Dr. John Chan, Member of the Board of Governors, Co-Chairman of the Entrepreneur Committee and Honorary Vice-Presidents of the HKBU Foundation, has recently published a new book, "Brand Rejuvenation: The Case of Playboy in China". This book brings together different strategies of brand rejuvenation in the Chinese fashion market. Several university presidents gave remarks for the book and described it as a valuable tool for any well-established brand to improve their competitiveness in the face of ever-evolving competition. Dr. Chan is currently Chairman of Chaifa Holdings Limited.
