Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Donation by The China-India Fortune Foundation

The China-India Fortune Foundation has recently made a generous donation of HK$3 million to Hong Kong Baptist University to support the University's Advanced Institute for Contemporary China Studies (ACCS) in organising activities to promote exchange between China and India.

In recognition of the Foundation's generosity, a Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Donation by the China-India Fortune Foundation was held on 2 June 2011 (Thursday) on campus. Officiating guests of the Ceremony were Mr. Lee Yu Leung, Chairman of China-India Fortune Foundation and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor.

In his speech, Professor Albert S.C. Chan expressed his sincere appreciation to the China-India Fortune Foundation for its leading role in fostering non-governmental dialogue and strategic collaboration between China and India, and creating opportunities for socio-economic synergy. Sharing a common vision with the Foundation, the University's ACCS is deeply committed to developing into a world-renowned centre for contemporary China studies and serving as a bridge between scholars and researchers within and outside China.

The Ceremony was well attended by guests and friends of the China-India Fortune Foundation, including Mr. Peter Fu, Founder of the China Fortune Foundation; Mr. Edmund Au, Consultant of the China-India Fortune Foundation; Mr. Deepak Kaul, Consul of the Consulate General of India in Hong Kong; Mr. William Yeung, Director of China Fortune Foundation Group; Mr. Li Jiaqiang, Deputy Director (Academic) of School of Continuing Education of Tsinghua University; Mr. Alvin Chan, Executive Director of Rojam Entertainment Holdings Limited; Ms Julie Xu, Vice-President of United Global Resources, LLC; and also supporters and friends of HKBU such as Ms Lily Pang, Executive General Manager of Hong Kong Wen Wei Po Daily International Public Relations Consultant Company Limited, as well as staff and students.
