The University recently received a generous donation of the Heirloom Edition Bible from Alumnus Wong Nga Chung, President of Nakagawa Electronics Limited, to further enrich the HKBU Library's Special Collections and Archives, and support researchers at the University. Only 1,000 copies of the Heirloom Edition Bible were printed by the Worldwide Bible Society. Thus, these limited edition copies have become collector's items.

In recognition of Alumnus Wong's generosity, the Heirloom Edition Bible Donation Ceremony was held on 28 July 2011 (Thursday) on campus. Officiating guests at the Ceremony were Alumnus Wong Nga Chung, President of Nakagawa Electronics Limited, Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development), and Ms. Kylie Chan, Acting University Librarian.

The Heirloom Edition Bible includes four translations of the Bible – the Chinese New Version, the Chinese Union Version, the Net Bible and the New American Standard Bible. These four versions enhance readers' understanding of the Bible enabling easy comparison of the texts during Bible studies. The Heirloom Edition Bible also contains numerous study notes and theme articles to help readers gain a deeper understanding of the scriptures and of how to build a perfect family.
