A delegation from Hong Kong Commerce & Industry Associations Ltd. (HKCNIA), led by its Chairman Mr. Ng Wai Tsan, paid a visit to the University on 11 May 2012. HKCNIA is composed of various local commercial associations with the aim of advancing the industrial and business development of Hong Kong. By organising different exchange activities, HKCNIA is committed to strengthening the ties and fostering commercial collaboration between Hong Kong and the world. Professor Albert S.C. Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Ng and all members of HKCNIA for taking time out from their busy schedules to visit HKBU. Professor Chan hoped that the delegation could have a better understanding of HKBU's latest developments during the visit, and he looked forward to working together with HKCNIA in nurturing future leaders for the community. In his speech, Mr. Ng Wai Tsan said that he was deeply impressed by the rapid development of the Academy of Film and the School of Chinese Medicine of HKBU. He appreciated the great contributions of HKBU to the educational development in Hong Kong and China. Mr. Ng expected that the visit could enhance the mutual understanding between HKCNIA and HKBU, and bring about their fruitful collaboration in future. The visit began with an introduction on the development of the School of Business by Professor Gordon Tang, Acting Dean of Business. The delegation then visited the Academy of Film and the School of Chinese Medicine. It was warmly received by Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Mr. Chen Yimin, Lecturer of Academy of Film; Professor David Fong, Acting Dean of School of Chinese Medicine; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement. |
