The University recently received the precious donation of an antique vase dating from the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty from Dr. John Chan, Chairman of Chaifa Holdings Limited, Member of the Board of Governors and Co-Chairman of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, for a charity auction.  The net proceeds generated will be donated to support the development of the University.

In recognition of the donor's generosity, a presentation ceremony was held on 14 June 2013. Mr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation, and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, received on the University's behalf the precious gift from Dr. John Chan. Mr. Wade Lam Yee Lung, Chairman & CEO of Grand Tech Group Limited and Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement, also attended the ceremony.
