The University recently received a generous donation of cosmetic goodies bags from L'Oréal Hong Kong Ltd. for charity sale, which has successfully raised HK$102,000 in support of the Student Service Learning Programmes organised by the Office of Student Affairs. In recognition of the donor's generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Ms. Lisa Wong, Director of Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainable Development of L'Oréal Hong Kong Ltd., Mr. Eric Hui, Operation Director of the company, and Professor Albert Lee, Director of Student Affairs, was held on 22 November 2013. Guests attending the ceremony included Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement, and Dr. Cinnie Ng, Associate Director of Student Affairs.

The four projects supported by the donation are: Lighten Hope Action which will arrange local volunteer services for physically disabled persons to promote positive living; Wofoo Leaders' Network which will offer service trip to earthquake-suffered areas in Ya'an, Sichuan; Psychological Competence Association which will visit Cambodia to bring love and hope to orphans; and Changes-Makers Programme which will visit India to build houses for the homeless.
