The University hosted a Founders' Day Reception on 27 March 2015 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to celebrate its 59th anniversary. Officiating at the ceremony were Dr. Eric Li Ka Cheung, GBS, OBE, JP, Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Mr. Cheng Yan Kee, JP, Mrs. Pamela Chan, BBS, JP and Mrs. Doreen Chan, respectively Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Treasurer of the Council and the Court of HKBU; and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor. Around 350 guests attended the reception, including the University's Council and Court members, honorary doctorate and fellowship recipients, government officials, Consuls-General, donors, staff, students, alumni and friends of the University.

In recognition of the generosity of our valued donors, Mr. Cheng Yan Kee and Professor Albert Chan presented Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation Certificates to Honorary Permanent Presidents and Honorary Presidents who have contributed a cumulative donation of HK$1 million or above this year. The Honorary Permanent Presidents were Ms. Delia Chan, Ms. Connie Wong, SBS, JP, Amway Hong Kong Limited, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, and the Jao Tsung-I Foundation.  The Honorary Presidents included Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Mr. K.Y. Hung, Dr. Jacinto Tong, the ~Angel Care~ Student Assistance Project, Junlan Electronic (HK) Limited, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, and the Y.K. Jim Charitable Foundation. Their generous support for HKBU has enabled the University to continuously strive for excellence and innovation in teaching and research.
