HKBU 55th Anniversary‧Regal Holdings Golf Day 2011 raises more than HK$1 million | 25 November 2011 | |  | The HKBU 55th Anniversary‧Regal Holdings Golf Day 2011 was held with great success on 25 November 2011 at the Leadbetter Course of the Mission Hills Golf Club in Dongguan, China. Officiating at the ceremonial tee-off were Mr. William Leung, BBS, JP, Treasurer of the HKBU Foundation, the Council and the Court, HKBU; Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Ronald Lu and Dr. K.K. Wong, SBS, JP, Co-Chairmen of the Organising Committee of the Golf Day; and Mr. Norman Wu, Diamond Sponsor of the Golf Day and Director of the Wu Yee Sun Charitable Foundation Ltd. A total of 33 teams comprising 130 players participated in this year's Golf Day and the event raised more than HK$1 million for the HKBU Foundation. Business and community leaders, university staff, alumni and students showed their enthusiastic support for the Golf Day. After a day of keen competition, the prize presentation ceremony and the dinner were held. In recognition for the sponsors' generous support, HKBU presented souvenirs to Mr. Allan Kwong, title sponsor of the Golf Day and Group President of Regal Holdings Corporation, and Mr. Han Zhi Shan, General Manager of Mission Hills Golf Club (representative of the venue sponsor of the Golf Day). Professor Frank Fu, Secretary-General of HKBU Foundation and Associate Vice-President, thanked the Organising Committee of the Golf day and the sponsors for making the event a success. He said this was HKBU's eighth Golf Day and the event not only raised funds for the University's development, but also broadened the University's network. There were a lot of fun moments at the Golf Day and they were showcased in two newspaper supplements on 2 December in Hong Kong Economic Times and Sing Tao Daily. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the participants, sponsors, donors, members of the Organising Committee, HKBU staff, students, alumni and HKBU friends for their contributions in ensuring the success of this annual event.
