 | | The HKBU ‧ Kum Shing 50th Anniversary Golf Day 2013 was held with great success on 4 December 2013 at the Annika Course and the Leadbetter Course of the Mission Hills Golf Club in Dongguan, China. This is the 10th successive year that HKBU has organised the Golf Day. A new record was set for both the amount raised and the number of participants. The event attracted more than 200 golf-lovers, including business and community leaders, HKBU staff, alumni and students, who formed 51 teams to take part in the tournament. It successfully raised HK$1.5 million for the University's long-term development.
The ceremonial tee-off was officiated by Mr. Hong Xiaoyong, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the HKSAR; Mr. Michael Wong, JP, Director of Information Services of the HKSAR; Dr. Wilfred Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKBU Foundation; Ir Dr. K.K. Wong, SBS, JP and Dr. Ronald Lu, Co-Chairmen of the Organising Committee; Mr. So Wing Kin, Vice-Chairman of the Organising Committee; Mr. Tenniel Chu, Vice-Chairman of Mission Hills Group; and Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor.
After the keen competition, a dinner cum prize giving ceremony was held. In his address, Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the title sponsor Kum Shing Group and all other sponsors for their tremendous support to the event. He also thanked members of the Organising Committee for their valuable advice which facilitated the smooth running of the event.
